Catching the Australian Sun
The Beryl Solar Farm, completed in June 2019 and located in New South Wales, Australia, is a prime example of renewable energy innovation. For this ambitious project, which involved the installation of 260,000 solar panels, XAPA Steel supplied high-quality steel components for the solar tracking system. Our durable and precision-engineered steel pipes played a vital role in supporting the tracking technology, which allows the solar panels to follow the sun, maximizing energy generation throughout the day, just like sunflowers. This project underscores XAPA Steel's commitment to supporting sustainable energy solutions with reliable, robust products.
Double the Advantage: XAPA Steel Expands Its Steel Portfolio with a New Grade
XAPA Steel has launched the new ZM620 grade of Magnelis® coated steel, featuring a 620g/m² coating on both sides. This upgrade doubles the lifespan compared to the previous ZM310 grade, offering up to 90 years of durability in harsh environments. Magnelis® uses less zinc than traditional galvanisation, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The ZM620 grade is designed for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) panel support structures and floating solar farms, where corrosion resistance is critical. Magnelis® ZM310 continues to be the preferred material for the panels themselves. With shipments beginning in late 2019, XAPA Steel's new ZM620 grade is poised to play a major role in renewable energy projects worldwide.
